Imitating the Ministry of Christ

Filed under: Church Impact — cleophusjlee @ 3:04 pm

As we move forward as “the church”, and understand when I say “the church” I’m not talking about the brick and mortar that we go to every Sunday nor am I talking about the pews we sit in.  But I’m talking about each and every person that has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.  Understand that everywhere we are “the church” is.  That’s why we have to be careful with how we carry ourselves in our day to day living because somebody is always watching “the church” (You) to determine if they’re going to make a decision to give their life to Christ or not.  Therefore as we move forward as “the church” we must understand God has called us to build His Kingdom.  Which means God expects us to take action.  It paints the picture of continuous motion working toward accomplishing the goal of bringing humanity into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

I’ve discovered as I have sought to do ministry the best way to successfully build the Kingdom is to imitate the ministry of Christ.  See if we imitate the ministry of Christ a lot of the stuff that generally gets in the way of Kingdom Building won’t.  The frivolous and bitter arguments won’t take place; pride and jealously won’t rise up, and rebellious spirits won’t control our actions.  We would forget about ourselves, and what we think we want and see things from the perspective of God.  We would look and see things as He sees them which are often very different from how we see them.  That’s why the execution of our faith is so important because we can see with our faith what we cannot see with our natural eyes.  Therefore, if we as the church imitate the ministry of Christ I believe we can become more effective in building God’s Kingdom…………
